This working group looks at ways to prevent young people from leaving school without qualifications and to improve the link between education and labour market.
In 2015, the working group will focus on exploring the following themes:
how can local partnerships carry out effective policies to tackle early school leaving, especially with regard to young people with multiple problems (which partners, resources and subjects);
how can cities best shape the delivery of career advice for young people and which local partners would need to be involved (for example, in such programmes as Pluscoach);
how can cities further shape the link between labour market and education at local level and which themes should we address; and
how can cities measure the results of investments made at local level (monitoring).
