Creative citizenship

Creative citizenship is a working group starting in 2015 to work on innovative methods that can process civic engagement to make a positive change in cities.

The objectives of this working group are to:

- Support the efforts made by cities to embrace and widen citizens’ participation

-  Exchange knowledge and experience between cities on creative and collaborative ways to connect with their citizens

- Explore how innovative methods can process civic engagement into positive and practical input for city services and regulations


The expected outputs of this working group are:

-     Mutual understanding between cities of on how cities engage with their citizens, including the practical tools (on and off-line) for this engagement

-     Increased awareness at EU, national and city level of the benefits and impact of reconnecting people with the local political structures

-     Better knowledge of which local participatory processes that are transferable between cities

-     More broadly to contribute to reestablishing trust in the local political structures through increased engagement of citizens in local development
