This working group addresses air quality, climate change and energy efficiency issues affecting European cities

Objectives:

• increasing knowledge among working group members on how to raise citizen awareness on air quality, health, climate and energy issues in cities

Air quality: 

• providing EU institutions with a city perspective on the EU air quality policy review

• developing links with other stakeholders at EU level on air quality issues

• collecting best practice examples that contribute to improving air quality and to the implementation of EU legislation in cities

Climate change: 

• monitoring and responding to the EU strategy for climate adaptation

• exchanging knowledge and best practices on climate mitigation and adaptation initiatives in cities, including the discussion of financial instruments for climate action 

Energy efficiency:

• implementing the Europe 2020 strategy, including the goals on resource efficiency as regards energy

• exchanging knowledge and best practices on energy efficiency initiatives in cities, including the discussion of financial instruments for energy action
