SEiSMiC stands for Societal Engagement in Science, Mutual learning in Cities.
This project is about thinking urban development in Europe in a socially
innovative way; i.e. imagining solutions to social challenges at the same time
as empowering society to act on them.
The two main objectives of SEISMIC are:
• To create 10 national networks gathering a large variety of stakeholders working on urban development.
• To gather the ideas coming from these networks and feed them back at European level towards the JPI Urban Europe, among others.
The 10 national networks are established in: Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey and the United Kingdom.
We will publish regular updates in 2015 and 2016, flagging up global and EU trends around urban issues and social innovation, as well as local best practices.
