An exciting programme of political discussions, networking and inspiring projects from European cities awaits you at this year’s EUROCITIES annual conference.
Registration is now open for EUROCITIES 2015 Copenhagen/Malmo, taking place on 4-6 November. You can find full details and register for this year’s conference, which will focus on ‘living cities – sustainable growth and quality of life’, at www.eurocities2015.eu.
The conference will open with our annual EUROCITIES awards. These recognise outstanding achievement by our members in delivering policies or practices that improve citizens’ quality of life, and are linked to the conference theme. We recently announced the shortlist, find out more here.
We are looking forward to welcoming Philipp Rode, executive director as our keynote speaker this year. He will follow the mayors of Malmo, Copenhagen and Nantes to open the first full day of the conference.
Mayors and politicians will gather in a series of roundtables to discuss air quality, employment, making cities attractive for investment, and urban mobility. These roundtables are replacing our usual mayors’ debate and workshops, and will allow for in depth discussion on some of our most important areas of work.
We are inviting our politicians for a private political discussion on climate change. This will be another important step for us on the way to COP 21 in Paris this December, where we hope to make a strong case for local urban solutions to tackle climate change.
There will be plenty of opportunities to meet colleagues from around Europe in both formal and informal networking. The popular speednetworking sessions are where you can find out more about exciting and inspiring initiatives taking place in European cities. The new ‘inspiration for breakfast’ sessions will offer the chance to see first hand some of Copenhagen’s own projects.
