EU Sustainable Energy Week & awards

  • environment

The next EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) takes place on 15-19 June in Brussels and across Europe. Update: awards deadline extended to 16 March.

EUSEW, an European Commission initiative, is the leading event promoting secure, clean and efficient energy for Europe. Take part in the initiative by organising an Energy Day, applying for the Sustainable Energy Europe Awards, or by attending one of the hundreds of events due to take place.

You can now apply for the Sustainable Energy Europe Awards, the official EU prize for sustainable energy projects in Europe. This year, there will be a special category dedicated to efforts at local level: ‘cities, communities and regions’. The other two categories are ‘renewable energy’ and ‘energy efficiency’. If you’d like to showcase your city’s efforts at reducing its carbon footprint, or if you think your municipality deserves more recognition for its achievements in sustainable energy, this is your chance to shine. The deadline has just been extended to 16 March 2015.

Nominees and winners will be invited to the awards ceremony due to take place in Brussels during EUSEW. This is an ideal opportunity to gain more visibility at EU level. The winning projects will be presented as innovation leaders and role models for sustainable energy through articles and videos.

Potential applicants are strongly advised to submit an early description by the 31 January evaluation deadline in order to receive personalised feedback from the EUSEW secretariat. For more information on the awards, click here.

Every year, over 1,000 organisations, and cities, join EUSEW with their own Energy Days. Click here to find out how you can become an Energy Day organiser.
