EUROCITIES is looking to showcase good practices examples from its members on the themes of volunteering and migrant integration.
Within our EU co-funded project VALUES - Volunteering Activities to Leverage Urban and European Social integration of migrants, and in the tradition of our Integrating Cities process, we will produce four new Integrating Cities toolkits. The toolkits are designed to guide cities in implementing the EUROCITIES Integrating Cities Charter. You can find the latest editions of the toolkits in the Integrating Cities website.
We would like now to collect good examples of migrant integration initiatives and projects implemented with the support of volunteers and civil society organisations, and more specifically on the following themes:
- Community building in cities to foster a welcoming culture
- Innovative voluntary activities in integration: engaging migrants and refugees in volunteering activities for integration activities
- Cities and volunteer cooperation in migrant integration at neighbourhood (or ‘community’) level
- Mobilising volunteers in engaging young migrant population in community life.
Want to share with us your best practices on the above mentioned themes? Excited for your city to be featured in our new Integrating Cities toolkits? All you need to do is to fill in this questionnaire by Friday 28th August. Should your city have several projects/initiatives related to the four VALUES themes, you can share several examples in the same questionnaire.
We will review the examples we receive and those that are closely related to the VALUES project’s themes will be featured in the new toolkits. We will inform you of the outcomes of this review by mid-September. The toolkits will be presented during the 9th Integrating Cities Conference on 2-3 December, in Nuremberg.
