With 50-75 new high tech start-ups emerging every year, Twente represents a
regional hub of innovation and entrepreneurship in the high-tech industry. The
organisation Novel-T plays an important role by offering start-ups and
entrepreneurs access to a dynamic and innovation ecosystem. By connecting
entrepreneurship to high-tech innovation and employing talent, knowledge,
capital, network and infrastructure, they help them to become game changers.

Based on triple helix model, the innovation campus Kennispark Twente gathers over 430 companies and the University of Twente, making it the largest innovation campus in the Netherlands. Saxion University of Applied Sciences, which is located close by is also connected. Recent developments include the addition of two more innovative campuses: High Tech Science Park and Technology Base Twente.

In 2013, Kennispark Twente won the Best Business park award for its achieved results in innovations, technological developments and connection of education and entrepreneurship opportunities.This award underlines the good cooperation between companies and the Kennispark Twente partners: the municipality of Enschede, province of Overijssel, Region of Twente, the University of Twente and Saxion University of Applied Sciences.
