The Europe-China Eco-Cities Link (EC-Link) project is a key element of the EU-China Partnership on Sustainable Urbanisation, which was signed by the European Commission and the Chinese government in May 2012.

EC-Link was formally launched in November 2013. It aims to assist cities in China in implementing energy and resource-efficient measures by sharing experiences in sustainable urbanisation with cities in Europe. The 48-month project supported by the European Commission DG Development and Cooperation will conclude in October 2017. EC-LINK is run by a consortium of four partner organisations (EUROCITIES, Climate Alliance and engineering consultancy Grontmij), led by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
