The next meeting of WG Urban Ageing will focus on inclusion and empowerment of elderly citizens in times of pandemic. Join us to learn from each other and discuss health, well-being and community preparedness
The following topics will be discussed during the meeting - taking place over two mornings - in an interactive way with all participants. Together we will think about actions to improve the inclusion of elderly residents and share them with key EU stakeholders in light of the forthcoming Green Paper on Ageing.
Health and well-being
The Covid-19 pandemic has detrimental effects on physical, cognitive and psychological health of our elderly residents. Considering the coming winter, how can we act to prevent physical deconditioning (due to limited ability to participate in regular physical activity), improve nutrition, cognitive ability and counter isolation in light of the second wave?
Community care and support
The Covid-19 pandemic has shown that local leaders, community led organisations and citizens came together to show solidarity and great innovation capacity in times of crisis. How can we ‘lock in’ this trajectory to strengthen outreach, scale up neighbourhood initiatives and develop new models of community engagement? What are the key partners and resources needed to achieve these goals?
