As part of a series of online city dialogues organised by EUROCITIES, you are kindly invited to join us for a city dialogue on volunteering during the current Covid-19 crisis. The city dialogue will take place online on Monday 18 May from 10:00 - 12:00 CET (Brussels time).
Objective
Questions for discussion
- How city staff and volunteers/civil society can best cooperate during these difficult times? Does an institutionalised volunteer platform or network led by city authorities provide the needed support or is it an additional layer to free and flexible citizens' initiatives?
- How can cities and associations/NGOs guarantee volunteers' safety while ensuring continuation of volunteering activities, especially those to support the most vulnerable citizens (locals and migrants)?
- What are the main challenges for civil society and volunteering associations during the current pandemic and what would they need in terms of support from their municipality?
