At the EUROCITIES Working Group Waste meeting in Amsterdam, April 2018, the WG decided to develop a briefing note on the recently revised Waste Framework Directive (WFD) and Packaging & Packaging Waste Directive, specifically on the implications for cities across Europe.

CoMo case study Turin: Energy efficiency interventions for public buildings and lighting systems

The municipality has undertaken a fruitful collaboration with the University Politecnico of Turin to collect data on energy consumption and costs for the city building stock, with the aim of making more efficient technical and policy decisions. Renovation of public buildings and substitution of public lighting bulbs with LEDs are among the first actions implemented.

EUROCITIES members currently planning an event taking place between 13 April and 9 June 2019 still have the possibility to register it as an EU Green Week 2019 partner event. This year’s EU Green Week will take place between 13 May and 17 May 2019 and will examine the process of implementation of EU environmental laws.
